Our Pastor
The Reverend Jermaine D. Harris is a native of Stewart County, Georgia (Louvale). He is a graduate of formerly Stewart-Quitman High School in Lumpkin, Georgia and furthered his education at Fort Valley State University and Georgia Southwestern State University where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education.
Rev. Harris accepted his calling to ministry in 2003, and was admitted to the Southwest Georgia Annual Conference of the African Methodist Episcopal Church in 2004. The following year Reverend Harris enrolled in Turner Seminary at The Interdenominational Theological Center in Atlanta, GA. While he was attending Turner Seminary, he made Dean’s List several times and in 2006 he received the John A. Middleton Scholarship award. His first pastorate came in June 2006; He pastored Mayfield Zion AME Church (Alamo, Georgia) and St. James AME Church (Cochran, Georgia). In 2008, He earned a Master of Divinity degree from Turner Seminary (ITC) and also become the pastor of ATOC AME Church in Dawson, GA March 8, 2008 to May 21, 2011. He served as pastor of Allen Temple AME Church in Tifton, Georgia from May 22, 2011 to June 2, 2017. During his pastorate Rev. Harris was known as a people oriented person and believes everyone is a gift from God. As pastor of Allen Temple -Tifton, the church was able to burning mortgage on parsonage, and received a 2016 Church Van from donor paid in full. He is currently serving as Senior Pastor of Allen Chapel AME Church in Americus, Georgia. Some of the greatest lessons of his life came from his grandmother. At an early age, she would make him read the bible to her. One of Reverend Harris favorite quote is “God uses ordinary people to do extraordinary things”.

Reverend Harris is an Itinerant Elder of African Methodist Episcopal Church and served as Dean for Board of Examiners (2012-2016) in Albany/Valdosta District. He is also served as 2008-12 General Board member (African Methodist Episcopal Church) and a proud member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity,Inc. He is married to formerly Tara Brown and has three sons Kadarius, Nicholas, and Christian Jermaine.
